Formerly a Professor at Duke Med, Executive Director at Harvard Med, Senior VP at Takeda R&D, Chief Information Officer US FDA and SVP J&J Pharma R&D. Eric holds undergraduate and MS degrees in chemical engineering, and a PhD in biochemical engineering from Drexel University. Eric is a seasoned technologist and researcher with a lifelong love of teaching. Soon to be fully retired, Eric loves teaching sailing, paddling, fishing and on the water safety to students young or old regardless of experience or disability.
During Eric’s research and technology career he has had the honor of participating in multiple global health initiatives in Africa and Asia including the 2014-2015 Ebola outbreak in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone West Africa as well as the Rohingya refugee crisis in Myanmar and Bangladesh; via volunteer posts with Partners in Health and Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders). Still involved and dedicated to improving health here and abroad, Canis Major Fishing Adventures donates 5% of all profits to the following charities based upon client choice.
The First Responders Foundation
To ensure the safety of his guests, Eric is a licensed Wilderness First Responder (WFR), the industry standard for professional wilderness guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoor enthusiasts, and international travelers. In addition, Eric is also certified in Adult, Child, Infant CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Airway Management and Epinephrine Auto-Injection.
